Student Employment
To become a peer tutor, complete a Tutor
Application, and submit it to the Office of Academic Affairs, Kearney
202. Tutoring is a paid, non work-study position, therefore anyone who
meets the qualifications may apply.
Tutor Qualifications:
- Minimum grade of B+ in the course
- Recommendation from the course instructor or department chair
Tutor Responsibilities:
- Be available to tutor a minimum of three hours per week. Tutoring
times will be arranged around the tutor's schedule.
- Be familiar with the materials currently being used in the courses
you tutor, including syllabi, textbooks, handouts and any other
reference sources used by the instructor.
- Be capable of tutoring the subjects listed on the application
and be willing to notify the Tutoring Coordinator if, at any time,
you do not feel confident tutoring a particular course or subject
area.
- Notify the tutee and the Tutoring Coordinator in advance if
you cannot keep a scheduled appointment. Submit all paperwork and
timesheets in a timely manner.
