At St. John Fisher College we are proud of our many dedicated and
successful Alumni and of the community in which we live.
- Based on the success of our alums, and their desire
to contribute to the success of others, The Career Alumni Resource Database
(CARD) was been designed in the summer of 2003 to allow St. John Fisher College students, faculty
and alumni to contact alumni volunteers.
- Volunteer Career Mentors will provide
support on various topics they have selected which may include: networking
- informational meetings, industry research, advice
regarding graduate schools, cover letter and resume editing, relocation,
conducting mock interviews, professional job searches and internships.
The database is password-protected and managed by the Career Center and
Alumni Relations. Select faculty members are also authorized to provide
passwords to students. The system may be utilized only for academic research,
internship or job searches. No solicitations for funds, or clients will
be permitted. We reserve the right to remove any individual who misuses
the system.
As all mentors are volunteers, all
parties utilizing the database are encouraged to prepare questions in
advance, have clear objectives identified for each contact and respect
the choices the volunteers have made regarding the topics they have volunteered
to address. For further information regarding informational
interviewing and sample initial correspondence with volunteers, please
visit the Career Center's
JobZone.
